Trance Family SF Celebrates 9.2

First and Foremost. Thank you to TranceFamily SF for always allowing ME to shine. It’s because of you we continue to thrive as Djs here in San Francisco. I’m forever honored to be a part of the community, and allowing me and my crew to host is awesome. Thanks so much Sony Jacob, Ulrich Capaul & Kim Tran. you guys!

A lot can be said about 1015. My history with this venue dates back to the early 90’s. I’ve personally gotten to play and open for some of the biggest artists here. Over the years opening for Blank & Jones, 4Strings, Above & Beyond, Thrillseekers, Aly & Fila, Paul Van Dyk, The list goes on and on….

I wanted to give everyone an experience they could remember when we hosted the room, so I enlisted our laser guy for Transcend Joe Liang. I also started my set at 132bpm, and quickly ramped up to 138bpm after around the 3rd or 4th track in. My first event I ever played professionally, I played at 136bpm opening for Blank & Jones. I can recall Taj telling me I was great, but I needed work. After a few events and several DJs later and opening sets I was awarded a Residency for the venue that would forever change my life as a DJ.

The new upstairs/vip
The renewed space upstairs functions almost as a second main room to 1015 Folsom. I remember in years that have passed, I’ve never really seen it look and sound so good. I was more than impressed. There is plenty of space to dance. I can finally say that the speaker locations are ideal almost. The lighting was great and also the room warmed up so much from attendance they turned on the air conditioner which quickly cooled the room.Sunday was no exception. As soon as I returned, I headed in to the studio to take some of the tracks I had on Vinyl and rip them into new 44100 . I have to say, hearing them on that renewed sound system upstairs was truly amazing. All of the tracks I played were tracks I heard at the venue over the years. Some of my all time, absolute favorites over the years. I sang along to the top of my lungs to a lot of these tracks with many of you. This had to be one of my favorite sets to play ever two hours of pure trance classics. I’ve always wanted to play set like this. To be able to host and do the same, was absolutely rewarding.FULL BROADCAST HERE

Niko Zografos and I discussed who to add to the lineup for the room. Over the years we’ve had several debuts. I wanted to give the room an added appeal as well and over the years always wanted to book her having talked to her and Brian Benning years back.

Suzy Solar made here SF debut with us. She’s a TRUE fireball of energy and I absolutely LOVED EVERY track she threw down. Starting off with the very classic Warrior. Was great to finally get her our to SF, and I enjoyed hosting her in our room!

I was also able to catch some of James Dymond in the mainroom.

James, I didn’t get a chance to tell you, but i played the sh*t out of this track. Its definitely one of my favorites from you. It was good to meet you and hope to see you again in SF!

This goes down as another favorite anniversary event for us in San Francisco. To all of you who attended my set and everyone in our room and the event itself THANK YOU!

It was really awesome having some of my closest friends there for Sunday. Please feel free to share this out or tag others who went!

I will see you all at the next event . Be on the lookout for another event soon! Blurr
