Dreamstate SoCal 2017 Review

Every year I think about how long the journey is to get to Dreamstate, but when I think about the music, the lights, the memories made, I do whatever it takes to make it back. I’m SO glad I did once again! It took me seven hours to drive down to Dreamstate at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA. Even though the event has been over for a few weeks, I wish I could turn back time to relive it!

I joined the two-day long euphoric journey along with 35,000 other trance enthusiasts. The festival featured four stages: Timeless, The Dream, The Vision, & The Sequence. While each stage had its appeal, hands down The Sequence with its holographic stage had the WOW factor!

Night 1, started a little rocky as the lines were long, due to logistics changes for tickets; the groans were heard all around but we stayed strong knowing what was to come. Viva La Trance! Finally, upon walking in, the vibes and the music were incredible as expected, the time lost in line forgotten. Feeling a sense of welcome from the smiles shared by many of the attendees, I headed straight to ‘The Vision’ stage.  Jordan Suckley was already unleashing his 3fect with the energy only building up from there. Then I made my way to see Andrew Rayel who never disappoints! We were so glad to see he was feeling better, and it showed! Our interview backstage with Kim will be coming out soon! My absolute favorite for the night was Key 4050, it left everyone mind blown. Other highlights of the night: David Gravell, John Askew, and AEON by PVD.

Night 2, the hologram caught me completely off guard and quickly became my favorite stage of the night. I was pulled to ‘The Sequence’ stage with psychedelic sounds where the psy gang got a hold of me! Captain Hook, Alpha Portal & Vini Vici were unstoppable! With that,  I had to pull myself away to do some exploring, I was breathing in all the trance from some of my other favorites, ALPHA 9, Leiel, Andrew Bayer, & Bryan Kearney.

Armin Van Buuren gave TranceFamily SF the opportunity to learn a little more about him so stay tuned for that! Meanwhile, I got ready for an interview with MaRLo who shared a bit about his music, family and his new label. The best way to close the night was with MaRLo’s tech energy set reflecting his passion for what he loves. The energy was undeniable and he was relentless giving everyone a mish mash of trance sounds.

Thank you Insomniac for having us for a special Trancegiving! See you next time trance fam!
